Helen's Baptism!!!

Ok for those who don't know, Helen is a lady I taught for almost 8 months in Morialta. But more about that later.

I've recently noticed my emails have gotten short. And that I have been lacking in the responding aspect. Today I'm making that all up. Oh that's right, this email will be a novel. So please, sit back, relax, and enjoy the story.

So Tuesday, we had a combined south Australia mission conference for President and Sister Johansson's last zone conference. It was so good! I got to catch up with a bunch of missionaries. I was so happy to be among friends. It's sad to see President and Sister Johansson leave, but hey, it's the mission for ya. Get close to someone then they dip. Oh whale 🐋. Then after we had a lesson with our new member Chris. And then a lesson with Rob Cadger. I absolutely love Rob. He is progressing so well it's unbelievable. After Rob we had dinner with the Blackmores which was amazing. Love their family. Then we had a lesson with our indigenous friend Simon. He is doing so well. He absolutely loves the Book of Mormon which is a great thing to hear as a missionary. So we're happy.

Wednesday was just full on busy like none other. We had district council in the morning which was amazing. Following that we had a lesson with Charlie which was amazing. Then we had a lesson with his neighbor Jodie who is actually doing pretty well. Following that we door knocked for 30 minutes. After door knocking we had a lesson with Chin and her family. The lesson was good, we talked a lot about missionary work and why we are here serving missions. The spirit was strong. After Chin we saw Sokol. He is doing so amazing. He's super excited for his baptism this next Sunday. Then, we had a lesson with our friend James at Ryan and Karen's. That lesson went... well. It's so hard to teach at their house because they like to talk, but hey, we work with what we got. Then to close the night we started our exchange, I went to Tea Tree Gully with Elder Ginn.

Exchange time. Tea Tree Gully is still lit. We biked instead up bussed. It was pretty lit. Dang am I out of shape. But that's why we do it. We visited a bunch of members, door knocked and it was lit. Pretty good exchange. Friday was then pretty great. We had a bunch of lessons that went very well. So yeah it was good.

Saturday we had a lesson with the Bongco family. They really got into it and were super involved which was awesome. After that we had a lesson with Mel. We had one scheduled Wednesday but she said to come Saturday so we didn't know how interested she really was. But turns out she was super excited. We talked to her for about an hour and it went so good. After that we had two great lessons with inactive members. One is planning on coming to church this week. So that's pretty cool.

Now the time we've all been waiting for, Helen's baptism! Ok so my last day in Morialta, Helen asked if I'd come back for her baptism. When I showed up she was so excited. She tried to hug me but I said nope and stuck out my hand for a handshake. It was so good to talk to talk to the members. We were there literally an hour and half talking. I got to talk to some the priest I taught mission prep to. It was such a great experience. I miss that ward so much. After that we went to this caravan park which was beast. We had a lesson with this dude name Jonathan. Pretty lit dude.

So yes, that's my week. It was amazing. I am very happy.

A spiritual thought comes from an Elder Bednar's devotional. If all you have is a testimony, you run the risk of falling away from the church. It won't be enough. You must truly be converted to the Savior. That will keep you on the right path.

Love you all! Have a stellar week. Talk to you when I do.
